REGIONAL CORN CONFERENCE 2027
"Transforming the Regional Corn Industry for Food and Feed Security"
Introduction / Pengenalan
Building on the success of the inaugural 1st Regional Corn Conference (RCC) in 2019, the 2nd RCC in 2027 convenes at a defining moment for agricultural science and bioeconomic resilience. What began as a strategic conversation has transformed into an urgent regional imperative. Driven by climate volatility and global supply chain disruptions, the transition from import dependency to regional self-reliance is no longer just an agricultural aspiration; it is a critical national security priority.
At the core of this transformation is grain corn, the invisible macroeconomic engine driving our livestock and poultry sectors. Serving as the primary foundation for affordable dietary protein across the region, establishing a resilient domestic grain corn ecosystem is paramount. By scaling local production, we directly stabilize feed costs, shield regional markets from international price volatility, and solidify long-term food sovereignty.
Driven by the theme, "Transforming the Regional Corn Industry for Food and Feed Security," the 2nd RCC 2027 will convene in Penang from 1-3 June 2027 to bridge the gap between scientific discovery and field-level implementation. By fostering strategic collaboration among researchers, policymakers, breeders, agronomists, industry leaders, investors, and producers, the conference aims to translate laboratory breakthroughs into scalable, high-yield, climate-resilient, and commercially viable solutions for the industry's future.
